Against the backdrop of the ban imposed on “Maga Dheera” film, the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) president, Mr K Chiranjeevi, on Thursday met the Minister for Panchayat Raj, Mr Botsa Satyanarayana at the PRP Legislature arty (PRPLP) office on the Assembly premises.

After the House is adjourned for Monday, the PRP president invited Mr Botsa Satyanarayana to the PRPLP office where both of them were closeted for well over 15 minutes. The meeting assumes significance against the backdrop of the ban imposed on the screening of the “Maga Dheera” film in Vizianagaram district, the home district of the minister.

“Maga Dheera’ has Chirajevi’s son, Ram Charan Teja, in the lead role and the screening of the film has been banned in Vizianagaram district in view of lack of security measures in various cinema houses. At least two persons died at one of the theaters in a stampede in Salur in the district a couple of days ago when the audience scrambled for tickets for the movie.

Thursday’s meeting is thus significant and both Mr Chiranjeevi and Mr Satyanarayana are state to have discussed the ban on the screening of the film.
