Production house Pyramid Saimira Wednesday slapped a lawsuit on Tamil thespian Kamal Haasan for taking his fees but not completing the film "Marmayogi".

Kamal was reportedly paid Rs.10.90 lakh to do "Marmayogi" almost a year ago by Pyramid Saimira. However the movie was shelved for unknown reasons.

Pyramid Saimira claims that Kamal had promised that first he would complete "Marmayogi" and then start work on any other movie. But the actor went ahead with the shooting of "Unnaipol Oruvan", which is co-produced by his production house Rajkamal Films International and UTV International.

"It is unfair on the part of Kamal to go ahead with 'Unnaipol Oruvan' release, he should repay the advance," said an official from Pyramid Saimira.

An interesting name has emerged in New Delhi on Wednesday in the rat race for Chief Minsiter’s post in Andhra Pradesh.

According to reliable sources, AICC president Sonia Gandhi had asked Rajya Sabha member K V P Ramachandra Rao, who met her on Tuesday, whether there was an effective alternative candidate for the CM’s post, setting aside the clamour for Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. After a deep thought, KVP reportedly suggested the name of Rajahmundry MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar.

According to KVP, Vundavalli is a close confidant of YSR family and hence there might not be much objection from the family as well as Jagan supporters. Secondly, he is good orator and an intellectual, who can grasp the things easily. Thirdly, he is the only person who can successfully encounter the Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu, supported by Eenadu group chairman Ramoji Rao. “Since he is also a non-controversial person, he might be acceptable to all,” KVP is learnt to have told her.

Haryana CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda's helicopter today made an emergency landing here due to bad weather.

District administration officials confirmed that the helicopter carrying Hooda, who was flying from New Delhi to Muktsar in Punjab, landed in Hisar on Wednesday afternoon.

The chief minister's chopper made an absolutely safe landing here. It was only an emergency landing. He has left for Delhi by road now, said Navdeep Singh Virk, Hisar Superintendent of Police. According to sources, Hooda opted to land safely in Hasar after pilots warned of bad weather ahead.

Saying a big no to reports which claimed that she had married her Tollywood co-star Tarun, Priyamani has said “some jobless persons have involved in spreading rumours” against her.

“I last met Tarun three years back when we did a movie together. I have no contact with him after that. I don’t even know what is he currently doing,” says the actress, playing down reports appeared in a section of the media on her “wedding”.

She adds: “There is nothing much to worry about these rumours. These are nothing but the handiwork of some jobless people.”

Late chief minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s closest aide and adviser K V P Ramachandra Rao met Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Wednesday.

Mr Rao, regarded as the architect of the ‘Jagan for CM’ campaign, told journalists that Prime Minister would decide on Rajasekhara Reddy’s successor in consultation with AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and other senior leaders.

Rao said that the Prime Minister knows the state of affairs after the sudden demise of chief minister Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that the successor issue to the late chief minister should be discussed in the Congress high command meeting after the mourning period is over.

The Prime Minister had asked Rao about the health condition of YSR’s wife and other family members. He also asked Rao the supporters of Rajasekhara Reddy’s son, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and their opponents to avoid raking up the chief ministership issue during the mourning period for the former chief minister, who was killed in a helicopter accident.

Mr Rao, a Rajya Sabha member, was closeted with Mr Singh for more than 20 minutes. Earlier Mr Rao had a meeting with AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and informed about developments in the state on Tuesday.

Mr Rao said the Congress president asked him about the political situation following the death of Rajasekhara Reddy. She also enquired about the former Chief Minister’s family and how they were coping with the tragedy.

However, some say that Sonu will be seen in the next venture ‘Ek Niranjan’ which is being directed by Puri Jagannadh.
