Susi sounds confident on Mallanna

Director Susi Ganesan believes in letting his work to do all the talking. On the eve of the much-anticipated release of Kanthaswamy, the soft-spoken director let his guard down and spoke of this mega-project.

"What's Kanthaswamy about? In a nutshell, it is an honest effort to give a different sheen to the meaning of commercial cinema," said Susi for starters.

"The way Vikram prepared himself for the role cannot be described in words. He has lived up to his image of giving perfection to every aspect of his character. You will find Vikram at his fiery best,” Susi added with confidence.

Not many are aware that the actual shoot was completed in eight months but the delay was in giving the fine touches. Susi said he could leave nothing to chance in a project of this magnitude.

"You will find grandeur in every facet, be it the music, cinematography or the richness in the story content. It should be a landmark movie in Kollywood, good enough to be compared with the very best of Hollywood,” signed off Susi.

Suriya as a 10-year-old!

The star, in a portion of the film, appears as a 10-year old! “The effort and hard work Suriya put in for 15 days to play the part of a ten-year-old in the film is unbelievable,” he disclosed, and added that Suriya was full of admiration for Kamal Haasan, who had played ten different roles in Dasavatharam, after playing the part.

“Suriya was wondering how Kamal sir had managed to play so many roles so well when it was difficult to play one role,” Ravikumar, said to loud cheers from fans gathered to witness the launch. The day would also undoubtedly remain etched in the memory of music director Harris Jayaraj as two of the top heroes in Tamil cinema confessed that they were huge fans of his music.

Actor Vijay, while speaking on the occasion, said, “I really like Harris’s melodious numbers. In fact, you could say that I’m a slave to his melodious numbers.” Suriya too showered praises on the music director.

While the audio of the film was released by director Shankar and received by Tamil Film Producers’ Council President Rama Narayanan, the trailer was released by producer R B Choudary and received by actor Vijay.

Usually when a movie gets a good talk, there is a wave of appreciation and then it reaches the peak. But at one point, the hysteria dies down and the film reaches a normal level and one day exits. However, that seems to be not happening in the case of the latest release ‘Magadheera’. It started off as a wave then slowly turned into hysteria but now it looks like an obsession and more of devotion has been generating for the film.

Those who have watched the film say that this is going to be the sensation of the decade. While some might see it as an exaggeration, the response and the talk the film has been having is enormous. True to its effect, even other promising movies like ‘Anjaneyulu’ have been facing the heat and got struck with their collections. On the other hand, ‘Magadheera’ has been marching forward despite the controversies and the issues that it has been facing. Unlike other teams that go on for ‘success yatras’ etc,

‘Magadheera’ has been making a statement purely with the crowds in the theaters. The key persons like hero Ramcharan Teja, heroine Kajal Agarwal and director Rajamouli have already got onto their next projects which go to show their levels of professionalism. ‘Magadheera’ has surely been setting a new chapter in the history of Telugu cinema which would take a long while to be rewritten.

I am uncomfortable with girls: Ravi Teja

The year 2009 is remarkable for two reasons — viewers lapped up contrasting themes and enjoyed watching period epics and comic-capers with equal interest.

This seems to have worked well for Ravi Teja who is now the flavour of the season with two back-to-back hits Kick and Anjaneyulu. And he’s still raring to go with two plum projects in the pipeline. “I love to move on and do as many films as possible since I hate being idle,” he says. The 40-something actor claims he possesses “abundant energy, is a workaholic” and holidays don’t fit his scheme of things. “After a couple of days away from work, I want to get back to the arc lights,” he confesses.

As an actor, he feels “tickling the funny bone is the key. I have been told that NRIs watch my movies to bust stress. For me that’s a big compliment.” Making a favourable comparison he says that even Bollywood star Akshay Kumar is tasting success with comedy. Ravi’s serious performance in Neninthe failed to impress. Any regrets? “I never regret anything in life. At that point in time we felt the film would work but the audience felt otherwise,” he shrugs.

The lanky actor will display serious shades once again in his upcoming film, a remake of Tamil blockbuster Nadodigal. “It’s a wonderful film that celebrates friendship,” he elaborates. Is it true that he plans to stay away from comedies for some time? “Not really. My film with director Krishna Vamsi will be a full-fledged comedy,” he claims.

On screen Ravi often goes to extreme lengths to woo his love. Would he do that in real life too? “Oh god. No. I am scared of girls in real life. I can’t even make a conversation with them,” he ruefully admits.
A happily married man, Ravi doesn’t enjoy partying and attends “bashes” very, very “selectively” spending time with a “close-knit friends’ circle”, or “watching films at home” and works out “occasionally. I am passionate about my work, so I never feel stressed” he says.

No 'sex' in censor board!

The term 'sex' is still a taboo in India, no matter how open the thoughts of the generation may have opened but it still keeps the same, unchanged image in the vocab of censor board.

An eminent filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee is having a tough time getting a title for his new film. He wants to register Love, Sex aur Dokha as the title for his next film but it seems 'sex' is still considered as an obscene word in Bollywood's dictionary.

Banerjee said, "We were told that Love Sex aur Dhoka is obscene or there are certain obscene issues in it and it has to be looked into and that is what we found little surprising because we didn't know that there was another body outside the censor board which can deny you or grant you title on the basis of obscenity."

Dibakar has made movies like "Khosla Ka Ghosla", "Oye Lucky Lucky Oye", says that his next movie is inspired by the growing obsession with reality shows and voyeurism. But since his title has been rejected, the filmmaker has appealed to the Title Registration Committee for reconsideration, but they don't seem to be in a mood to relent.

"Committee approves a title on the basis of the affect the title would have on the society," says Title Registration Committee convener Vikas Mohan. However, Banerjee is still waiting for a positive response from the committee.

No one except people can eliminate PRP, says Chiranjeevi.

Denying any possibility of PRP's merger with the Congress, the party chief K Chiranjeevi on Thursday said such "fabricated" reports were part of political conspiracies against the party.

No force, except the people, could eliminate PRP, said the actor-turned-politician commenting on the reports in a section of the vernacular media that PRP might soon be merged with the ruling Congress.


It was neither for the TDP nor the two newspapers to decide whether or not the PRP should exist, Chiranjeevi told reporters at the party headquarters here.

The people were the ultimate judges, he said, adding that such "fabricated stories" were part of a deep-rooted conspiracy by two newspapers on behalf of a political party.

The PRP chief maintained that staying neutral was his political agenda. "How can I be close either to the Congress or the TDP and how many times should I prove my neutrality," Chiranjeevi asked.

He accused TDP of launching "baseless and false campaign" against PRP which was an "obstacle" in TDP's path to power.

"I am proud that 70 lakh voters of the state have solidly backed us in the recent elections. It is not even hundred days since the verdict has been delivered but efforts are on in full swing to bury the PRP," Chiranjeevi said

Hackers eye on heroines mail accounts

South Indian star Asin, who made a blockbuster Ghajini last year, is facing a cyber threat.

Reportedly, not only has Asin's mailbox been hacked, but the password to her email account has also been changed. Presently Asin is not using her email id and is only posting messages on her website.

This is not the first time Asin has faced online problems. A few days ago, the actress found a false Twitter account in her name, in which someone was supplying wrong information about her.

"I was clubbed with (author) Chetan Bhagat and (Minister of State for External Affairs) Shashi Tharoor and put on a social networkingwebsite. But I'm not on Orkut, Facebook or Twitter. Apparently, there are lots of fake profiles," Asin clarified soon after the Twitter fiasco.

In the past, Riya Sen, Sonam Kapoor and Katrina Kaif have also been victims of such online mischief.

Last year, Sonam's Facebook account was hacked and her personal pictures and information were posted on the net. On being alerted by a friend, she reportedly asked her brother Harsh to delete all the personal information from her account.

An impersonator had created a false email account in Katrina Kaif's name and shot off emails to journalists and film industry people on her behalf.

Finally, Katrina's spokesperson had to issue a clarification: "She is not on any social networking sites. Many feel she is on Twitter but that's not true." Three email accounts of Riya were hacked within 72 hours last year. She was worried because her accounts had photographs from private albums as well as film scripts. "I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It's like somebody walked into my bedroom and caught me unawares. It's killing me and I don't know what to do," she had told a website at that time.

Bollywood celebrities are soft targets for hackers because there is always a huge curiosity about them and they attract a lot of attention.

The problem is even more rampant in the international arena. Just a few weeks ago, pop diva Britney Spears' Twitter account was hacked and the hacker posted this 'information' on her account:"Britney has passed today. It is a sad day for everyone. More news to come."

Soon, Britney was rushing to update her account and informing her fans and well-wishers that she was "fine and dandy, spending a quiet day at her home relaxing". Salma Hayek, Lindsay Lohan, Miley Cyrus and Lil' Kim are among other Hollywood actresses who have experienced hacker trouble. In fact, Hayek's email account was broken into and her private images were released earlier this year.

PRP soar with media.......

Taking a serious view on media reports that appeared in two Telugu dailies stating that a section of legislators suggested the Prajya Rajyam Party (PRP) chief to

merge with the ruling Congress, the film-star-turned-politician andPRP founder K Chiranjeevi on Thursday took strong exception to the media reports and termed them as speculation of conspiracyagainst the party.

In the wake of such reports appearing in a section of media, the PRP leader convened a meeting with his party members at the assembly precincts to take stock of the situation.

Talking to media after the meeting, he ruled out the reports about the likelihood of Praja Rajyam MLAs joining other parties.

Chiranjeevi alleged that the PRP was being deliberately targeted by the media with the sole intention of weakening the party. He said that all the 18 legislators were solidly behind him.

"I am perplexed why the media is targeting PRP MLAs. There is no truth in it and the reports are baseless," Chiranjeevi lamented. He said that only Andhra Jyothi and

Eenadu dailies are filing such baseless stories to damage the reputation of PRP.

PRP SEEKS UNCONDITIONAL APOLOGY:-

Denying the reports, PRP leader Vanga Geetha demanded unconditional apology from the two newspaper managements for filing such baseless stories.
Condemning the reports, she said that there is no truth in those reports. One or two MLAs may want to join the Congress or the TDP. But the party is not bothered on such defections.

“PRP is here to stay under the leadership of Mr Chiranjeevi. He is determined to strengthen the party from the grassroots level on the slogan of social justice,” she said. “Chiranjeevi has already made it clear that those who want to leave the party may go but the party is here to stay,” Vanga Geeta reiterated.

S P Chary sends legal notice to Allu Aravind

Ever since “Magadheera” released with much fanfare, the name SP Chary has been grabbing the headlines. He is not a part of the moviecrew but the writer of the novel named “Chanderi”. He came out with a statement that it is his novel that has been copied and made into “Magadheera”. According to sources, he has also sent a notice to Allu Aravind, the producer of the movie.

He has asked the producer to apologize for plagiarism and pay compensation to him. He has threatened to take legal action if the producer fails to meet either of the two conditions. According to the movie name card, Vijayendra Prasad was named as the writer of the movie.

Mahesh Babu Fans strongly condemned to this comment and released a press note 'Allu Arvind is playing cheap tricks to get benefit. They said that Chiru - Ramcharan - Allu Arjun - Pavan Kalyan - Nagababu together If they make movies also would not cross Pokiri collections.

Asin learned this when recently she couldn’t access her account due to an invalid password. On consulting a technician, it was discovered that someone conveniently has hacked her account and is maybe using it for illicit purposes.

TV dance star arrested, charged with sexual assault

A choreographer on hit U.S. talent show SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE has been arrested on sexual assault charges. Salsadance instructor Alex Da Silva is accused of sexually assaulting four women.

The charges against the 41 year old include four counts of forciblerape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object.

The alleged assaults took place between August 2002 and March 2009. Da Silva, who is currently being held on bail, will be arraigned in Los Angeles on Thursday.
