Shriya apologizes for inappropriate outfit

Shriya rubbed the moral police of Chennai on the wrong side and found herself in the middle of a controversy centered on the attire she wore at the silver jubilee celebrations of Sivaji. The actress was wearing an off-white knee-length dress with a plunging neckline. On Sunday, the Hindu Makkal Katchi lodged a complaint against Shriya and sought police intervention to take legal action against her. In reaction to this, Shriya explained that she never intended to put Hindus or Tamilians, in an embarrassing situation. The actress expressed her regret over the same. Speaking over phone from Mumbai, Shriya said, "I respect the long standing traditions and culture of Tamil Nadu. I was in not aware of the repercussions that would arise because of my attire." The actress adds, "I was informed about the silver jubilee function while shooting for the Hindi film. I came directly from the shooting spot and I did not even have enough time to change into another dress for the function." She adds
