'Chiru playing double game'

Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi is playing a double game in strongly attacking the Telugu Desam party president N Chandrababu Naidu, while refraining from criticising the Congress in the K-G basin gas issue.

This was stated by TDP politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu. Taking objections to Chiranjeevi’s comment that Naidu had no vision in the gas exploration and that he had failed to demand for the state's share in gas exploration in K-G basin, Yanamala said the PRP president had no proper understanding on the issue.

He said during the TD regime the exploration of gas in KG basin had just begun and so, the question of demanding for state's royalty did not arise then. More over, the TD demanded the companies involved in exploring gas for state's share and an agreement to that affect was also entered in 2000.

Referring to Chiranjeevi's demand for allocation of 50 per cent share for the state in the gas being explored in KG basin, the TD leader questioned the very knowledge of the PRP president on the issue and asked with what criteria he was making such demand.

He found fault with Chiranjeevi for being highly critical of the TDP while failing to expose the failures of the Congress on the issue.
