District minister Botsa Satyanarayana had announced that the screening of the film will be stopped in Vizianagaram to conduct checks in the theaters for fire safety measures.

Now it is to think is there a political plot behind banning the screening of Magadheera film in Vizianagaram and plan to extend the ban to other areas?

Several leaders of the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) suspect a political motive. According to TDP leaders, it is a deliberate move by the ruling Congress to revive and infuse some life into the dying Praja Rajyam Party (PRP). Though, strong measures were required to rectify the safety systems in theatres, taking a movie to task is strange and could be part of the game-plan, commented a senior TDP leader.

In the wake of reports that most of the senior leaders even from the north-coastal districts are trying to jump the fence from PRP, the decision to ban the film in particular area would surely rake up the tempers, a senior TDP leader said.
