Priest pawns lord’s necklace in TirupathiIn a shocking incident that came to light today, China Raman Deekhsitulu, the chief priest of the Sri Kodandaramai Swamy temple in Tirupathi pledged a gold necklace of the lord at with a pawn broker, Sri Kamadhenu and sons.

The incident came to light after the TTD under which the temple functions started conducting n audit of the lord’s ornaments following a directive from the high court.

It is understood that the priest had pledged the gold ornament long back but it came to light only today. The vigilance staff has taken him into custody and is interrogating him.

Another necklace of the lord is also missing. The priest does seem to have any regrets in committing the crime and he says that he did it to make ends meet and even the lord will forgive him.
