HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) general secretary and official spokesman Prakash Javdekar said after the sudden demise of chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the true culture of the Congress party was exposed.
Though there was a Chief Minister in the State, the Congress leaders were speaking about future chief minister. “None is ready to obey Chief Minister Rosaiah’s directions. He is unable to take any decision and the administration is paralysed in the State,” Javdekar said. Addressing a press conference at the party State headquarters here today, he took strong objection to Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar’s statement that there would be shortage of foodgrains and increase in the prices of essential commodities. “Such statements will embolden traders to jack up prices,” he said. The Congress government could neither help the common man by controlling the price spiral nor the farmer by increasing the Minimum Support Price (MSP).The BJP leader said that Congress should implement austerity as a way of life but not use it like a fashion statement. The Congress was speaking about austerity only in the context of prevailing drought, did this mean that postdrought, the party leaders would revert to their lavish lifestyle?” Javedkar asked. The Congress leaders had forgotten austerity in public life after Mahatma Gandhi, while the RSS and other such organisations were still following Gandhi’s simplicity, he said
