The elderly man is up to some serious investigation. A well-dressed but distracted middle-aged man is being grilled. A little later, his wife joins him. The conversation assumes some more seriousness though the elderly man tries to play it down with reasoning. The scene is being canned for Gentleman by Posani Krishnamurali who incidentally plays the middle-aged techie, the title role. Aarti Agarwal is cast as his wife. The elderly man turns out to be veteran character actor Kota Srinivasa Rao. His role is that of a scientist on the verge of inventing a medicine to cure a disease called EMR (extra marital relationship) that affects some men.

Posani, known more for his strong dialogues and eccentric political satires, has steered away from the beaten path and has come up with a family-oriented theme exploring man-woman relationships. Nallam Padmaja is the producer. Posani, besides scripting the movie, directs.

The protagonist is a software engineer and is a happily married man. He loves his wife; in fact adores her and is very caring. Like most men (or is it some?) after a blissful five or six years of married life, he is attracted to another woman. Still he loves his wife but is unable to live without the other woman too. No one knows why and how this happens. A very devoted husband suddenly finds himself turning into a Casanova. He is unable to figure it out too. Here comes the scientist to his rescue. The scientist too is concerned as the man’s wife is none other than his niece.

As he is explaining the genesis of the scene, the other heroine Lucie joins the actors. Posani explains her part and the expressions expected from her. She is a model-turned-actress from London, says Nallam Srinivas who is producing the movie. She plays a techie too, a colleague of the protagonist. Bowled over by the way she adapts to Indian traditions, he is attracted towards her and soon a relationship starts. “We have films on extra-marital relationships earlier but no one tried to explore why a man is attracted to the other woman when he has so much love towards his spouse. That’s what makes our film unique and different,” smiles Nallam Srinivas.

The film also introduces two new talents: cinematographer Anand C. Kumar and music director Mallik Sharma. The starcast includes Chalapthi Rao, M. S. Narayana, Raghu Babu, Surekhavani and Jyothi. The movie is slated for release in October.
