Rajiv Menon who introduced Aishwarya Rai in 'Kandukondein Kandukondein' is now making a remake of the 1973 Amitabha-Jaya starrer Abhimaan. Though Abhishek says the film is not exactly a remake of Abhimaansourcescite it's nearly the same.
The film was to be made with Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai but Abhishek stepped in the last moment. Cinematographer and director Rajiv Menon is playing safe this time, cashingon the husband-wife chemistry and resorting to a remake. It would have been rather interesting to have Rajiv used the couple for far more better script. As it is Abhishek Bacchan is a non-happening actor compared to his wife, wonder if the filmmakers really need to whip up an 'abhimaan' in Abhishek's mind

Like it or not but before the arrival of the film ‘Eenadu’ it was often said that Kamal Haasan and Naseeruddin Shah belonged to the ivy league of actors. They were unique by their own traits and gave several mind blowing performances over the past few decades much to the delight and hangover of the audience.
However, now a situation has arrived when both of them are being compared with each other. Thanks to the film ‘Eenadu’, remake of ‘A Wednesday’ the Bollywood flick which had Naseer in the lead.
Now, many have been comparing bothmoviesand more than that, the performances by both the veterans. There has been a significant group which said that Naseer was way beyond Kamal in this movie. He had the right kind of voltage and the intensity which depicted the anguish of a common man in the right way.
On the other hand, many said that Kamal has got a larger thanlifeimage of his and he was not able to fit the bill of an ordinary man. Also, the depth in his character was not portrayed say many whichresultedin a rather mild performance. All said and done, the fact that many agree is that Kamal is a highly talented actor and that cannot be undermined but when compared to the realistic and deep performances of Naseer things change. What is your call on this folks?
It’s been more than a decade that she won the crown. But this former MissWorldis still literally reigning the World!
The popular International Harpers and Queenmagazinehadlisted100 beautifulwomenand among them was our Aishwarya Rai Bachchan! Not only that! She has taken the ninth rank in the list, reportssay.
Meanwhile, Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie is said to be topping the list, followed by Supermodel Christy Turlington. Among other beauties, Queen Rania of Jordan has also found her place in the chart.
Ileana’s debut in Tamil was not quite asuccessfulattempt. Then she got quitebusyin Tollywood and did not havetimeto think aboutmovingelsewhere. Now the lady seems to have got a plumofferin Kollywood. The buzz is that her next film in Tamil would be opposite the hot star Vikram whose recent film Kanthaswamy (Mallanna in Telugu) has been a top grosser. Anotherspecialis that the film will be directed by Vikram Kumar of 13B fame. So this could prove to be a wise choice for Ileana. If this film does well then it might be a successful comeback for the actress andsourcesreveal that it has been titled ‘24’.
And Nayanthara is no different. The actress was particular aboutwatchingPrabhu Deva’s directorial debut in Hindi, the Salman Khan-starrer Wanted, in a Mumbai multiplex. Nayan, who was in Kolkatashootingwith NTR for his Telugu film Adurs, took the early morning flight to Mumbai on Friday (Sep 18) to be with Prabhu Deva on his big day.
Nayan drove to the multiplex, straight from the airport, to catch the first day, first show of Wanted. Prabhu Deva and producer Boney Kapoor could have easily arranged aspecialscreening for her in one of the preview theatres, but Nayan was particular about watching the film with the public because she wanted to gauge the audience’s reaction.
Asourcecloseto the actress says that she really enjoyed the movie, especially the punch dialogues and Prakash Raj’s performance as the villain. Nayan knows to speak and write in Hindi as she studied in the Armyschoolsin north India, as her father was an army officer. And her all-time favourite actor is Salman Khan, who plays a larger-than-life character in the film.
After seeing the film and the audience reaction, Nayan is believed to have told Prabhu, who was going around the multiplex gauging people’s responses, that the film was going to be a super hit and congratulated him.

Hyderabad,Sep 21:- The main opposition Telugu Desam Party today asked State Congress leaders not to drag the party into the issue of finding a successor to late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as it was purely an internal matter of the Congress.
Addressing a press conference here, senior TDP leaders K Yerran Naidu and N Janardhan Reddy took strong objection to the allegation by some State Congress leaders that the TDP was eagerly waiting for mid-term polls in the State and said this only exposed the ''political bankruptcy'' of the ruling party. ''Don't drag the TDP into Congress internal wrangles. We are least bothered as to who should occupy the Chief Minister's chair in the present situation,'' they said.
Stating that the political vaccum in Andhra Pradesh was affecting the state very much, the TDP leaders said the state ministers were duty-bound to fulfill their ministerial responsibilities, finding solutions to people's problems, instead of concentrating on ''power politics.'' They urged the ruling partymen to immediately fill the ''political vaccum'' and concentrate on resolving people's burning issues, including drought, swine flu and price rise, instead of keeping themselves busy in ''power politics.'' Dr Janardhan Reddy denied the charge of some state ministers that the TDP was allegedly wrecking the chances of the late Chief Minister's son Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to become the Chief Minister.
