It is always said that a woman gets attracted to a man with intelligence and talent. But here is one man who is not only talented but also handsome and is right now becoming the heartthrob for many girls. He is none other than Siva Reddy and right now he has been anchoring the comedy program ‘Comedy Gang’ which is coming in the famous ETV channel.
Though the program has got veterans like AVS, M S Narayana and many others, Siva Reddy has been making his presence felt in a big way and the ladies of the home are said to be going ga ga over his skills. Incidentally, Siva Reddy got married recently so this new groom must be having tough time managing this attention.
In the last few years, reigning T-Town stars have received a lot of flak from media and industry bigwigs for doing just one film a year andspending the rest of the time endorsing big brands. In the past, matinee idols NTR, ANR and Krishna always had two films hitting the screens almost every year. Typically the excuse for this ‘one film a year’ strategy has been blamed on the “dearth of good scripts” which has made actors “super selective about the kind of films” they want to do. The stakes on big ticket films are so high, that stars are wary of taking professional risks and choose to stick to the tried and tested formula (read love and comedy themes). All that’s however, now in the past. Tollywood’s Gen Z stars have made a turnaround and are signing films left, right and centre.
Actor Allu Arjun seems to have his hands full with three films. “I want to start off a trend and inspire others,” says Arjun, who is shuttling between studios to wrap up Arya 2, director Gunasekar’s film and Vedam with ease. “All three films are different in terms of treatment and storyline,” he says, suggesting that “doing more films doesn’t mean compromising on variety”.
Arjun’s buddy and cousin Ram Charan Tej has already started his next film with Genelia and director Bhaskar from September. “Dad felt that I deserved a break and wanted me to savour the success (of Magadheera). But my passion for work can’t keep me away from arc lights,” avers Charan.
Actor NTR Junior dispels rumours about a strained back and seems to be doing a fine job of heavy duty action scenes and intricate dance sequences for Adurs. “We want to wrap up the film briskly,” says the young actor who’s also signed up for Brindavanam, a family entertainer . “It’s a good story and an author-backed role,” says producer Dil Raju.
Pawan Kalyan, a serious contender for the numero uno slot, has three films in the pipeline including the ongoing, Puli. “It’s a gripping cop story with message and entertainment blended in equal measure,” says Tamil director SJ Surya. Similarly, producer Ganesh who is basking in the success of Anjaneyulu has signed Pawan for an untitled big budget film. “Pawan Kalyan was impressed with the script and it’s an author-backed role for him,” say the producer.
This year, Ravi Teja seems to top the list with four films. “Work is worship for me,” chips in Ravi about his decision to do more films. Other actors who are shooting for two-films back-to-back are Ram, Naga Chaitanya, Prabhas and Gopichand. “Undoubtedly, it’s a healthy trend,” feels director Sridhar Reddy. “Due to lack of content, several theatres in small centres shut down. I hope with bigger stars agreeing to do more films, all that will change,” he adds.
As the movie platter gets more star-studded, the audience surely will be spoilt for choice!
The Prabhu Deva directed Hindi version of Pokiri is running into deep trouble with a financier alleging that the producers of the film, Sri Devi, Boney Kapoor and his father Surendra Kapoor have cheated him to a tune of Rs. 7.93 crores.

The trio had borrowed a huge amount from him and did not pay up the amount that was due to him. On repeated requests, they allegedly told the petitioner that it would be settled before the release of Wanted.
With the impending release, the petitioner has obtained a stay for releasing the film. The High Court of Madras has ordered the trio to furnish a security and not to release the film till further orders.

After painting several solos of his favourite ladies — Madhuri Dixit and Amrita Rao, legendary artist MF Hussain is now geared up to paint the two together on the same canvas for the very first time. “Hussain has even asked Madhuri and Amrita to visit him during Diwali this year to discuss the logistics of the film,” said a source.
Confirming the story, Hussain said, “I do a lot of combination paintings. I have started working on the Madhuri and Amrita painting. It should be ready in a month’s time.”

When asked if unlike his previous films Gaja Gamini (2000) and Meenaxi: A Tale Of Three Cities (2004), he would now like to make a commercial film, he replied, “No. I don’t want anybody to dictate what I have to make.”
According to sources Balakrishna's upcoming film with producer Bellamkonda Suresh is likely to be shelved. The progress of the movie is in dilemma as family members and well wishers of Balakrishna are against the actor doing the film with Bellamkonda Suresh. It is said that Balakrishna has quoted five crores as his remuneration to avoid the film. As of now the actor is dealing with successive flops, it will be tough for any producer to pay the amount he demanded. Bellamkonda Suresh is on a hunt to replace balakrishna with another mass hero.
