10 rupee notes with new looks

According to sources, Reserve Bank of India is all set to introduce new set of 10 rupee notes. These new notes are said to be made of polymer. Bank sources claim that by having polymer notes, the life span will increase by four times.The bank seems to have planned for 100 crore pieces of the new 10 rupee notes. The tender for the same also seems to have been floated.
Sources claim that the average life span of these notes will be five years. These notes will also be difficult to be counterfeited.
If all goes well then sources say that chances are that the other notes also would be made in the same format. The concern is with the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes that are getting faked.
