The Congress high command launched a team to know the facts of AP political situation with the out side persons who doesn't belongs any group.

The Congress central leadership has deputed at least 10 "secret observers" to the state to assess the political situation in the aftermath of the tragic death of former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy.

It is learnt that the senior leader, Mr Pranab Mukherjee and Mr Ahmed Patel, the political advisor of the Congress President, had deputed the observers. There are reports that Mr Ahmed Patel’s daughter has been in town for the last two days and had met certain leaders.

According to the sources the observers had arrived three days ago and were privately interacting with party leaders and others to give inputs on the possible successor to YSR. They have arrived even as an active campaign is on by a section of Congress leaders to make Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, son of YSR, the next Chief Minister.

The deputy chairman of the Legislative Council, Mr Mohammed Jani, and the Congress MLC, Mr Kanukula Janardhana Reddy, told Saturday that some observers had arrived in the city. But they refused to give names.

One observer has called the Rayachoti MLA, Mr Gadikota Srikanth Reddy, and discussed the situation. The AICC emissaries are also examining media reports and snap polls conducted by news channels about the possible successor of YSR.

They are collecting information on the support for Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, whether the Congress would be able to retain its sway in the future.
