This is a classic example that shows the lack of ethics in Telugu film industry. Generally when a title for a film is registered, it stays vaild for a year, after which it is for sale, can be used again.
The title Varudu was originally meant for Mahesh Babu's film. It was reportedly registered too, but the film started being delayed for various reasons and in the melee a year passed away and the title got expired. Here the title became popular despite all the odds and we kept reading statements in the media that it was not confirmed.
The story is that the filmmaker of Varudu was careless, took it for granted that the title is theirs as it became very popular and synonymous with Mahesh Babu. When Gunasekhar and Danayya noticed that it wasn't renewed they snatched it for Allu Arjun film. It was not given away. This goes to prove that for some people in this industry everything is business, and there is nothing called 'good will'
