Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is helpless in stopping attacks on girls and a fresh case showed up yesterday in Rajahmundry. The entire State is expressing concern over rising crimes against women and demanding that the State government take concrete measures to put an end to such incidents.

A youth allegedly stabbed the parents of a girl to death and injured her grievously for spurning his love at Rajahmundry in East Godavari district yesterday. The attack on a girl by her jilted lover at Rajahmundry yesterday is shocking. The girl's parents were killed on the spot and she is battling for life. This is terrible.

Girl's parents lodged a complaint on the killer some time ago but police released him after some pressure from the local politicians. Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy is helpless and suggests that society should change instead of police. Do we really need a home minister if society can change on it's own?

Rosaiah clears 415 files in one sitting

Posted by SRINU GUNTURU | | Posted On at 6:52 AM

HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Rosaiah on Thursday cleared a record number of files pending for the last few months. Sitting in the Dr MCR HRD Institute undisturbed for three hours, he is said to have cleared 415 files.

In fact, many of the files were waiting for clearance for long. At least three fourth of the files were to have been signed by Rosaiah’s predecessor Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. “The late YSR could not sign the files during the budget session. We were expecting that he would clear the files immediately after the end of the Assembly session. But his sudden death prevented that,” an official told TOI.

Rosaiah could not clear these mounting files in the last few days since taking over as CM as the political situation was not conducive. Since the stalemate is almost cleared, the chief minister asked the officials to submit all the files requiring the green signal from him.

So an exclusive “signing session” was scheduled at the HRD institute. Chief secretary P Ramakanth Reddy, CM’s principal secretary Jannat Hussain, special secretaries MGVK Bhanu and Madireddy Pratap were present in the meeting. According to sources, the meeting began at 4 pm and ended around 7.30 pm. Interestingly, the notable absentee in the meeting was YSR aide KVP Ramachandra Rao. Whenever such confidential meetings are held in the verdant institute under YSR, whether it was for clearing files or discussing the transfers of officials, KVP used to be present.

Opposition gearing up to attack Govt .

Posted by SRINU GUNTURU | | Posted On at 6:51 AM

The Opposition units are eagerly watching the developments in the Congress party, especially the leadership crisis. The happenings provide a chance for them to bounce back into the political limelight in the coming days.

Jagan is too young in politics so it may not be difficult to take him in elections. Naidu also knows that it is very difficult for the future CM to continue the ongoing schemes due to the alarming financial condition. This might be advantage to the TDP. As for megastar Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party, it is not sure whether he can take advantage of the current Congress situation. PRP lost its deposit in Tekkali recently.

There is a buzz that if there is a breakup in the Congress party due to the current crisis, one of them would rope the PRP into its camp and Chiranjeevi has been showing his inclination towards the Congress. Another party which is currently waiting to encash the Congress setback is the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

All these years, YSR was the only hurdle to the UPA government conceding a separate Telangana state and with him gone the TRS hopes to regroup with the UPA at the centre and put pressure on Sonia to grant the separate Telangana state.

However, the TRS is also facing a crisis with many of its own members said to be looking at other parties. Currently, the game of hide and seek has been happening in the state and while the people of Andhra Pradesh are enjoying the excitement, the underlying truth is that this would affect the progress of the state unless proper solutions are not adopted for the welfare of the Telugus.

Now racism on Indian's in Ireland

Posted by SRINU GUNTURU | | Posted On at 6:46 AM

Two Indian families in Northern Ireland have been forced to relocate to another part of the city Portadown after becoming the target of racist attacks.

One of the two families, which hails from Kerala, includes two children. They were targeted in what the local police described as hate crimes in the Killicomaine area.

The father, who did not want to be identified, is a care worker in a residential home. He was at home with his children when a downstairs window at the front of the house was smashed just before midnight.

His wife, a nurse at the Craigavon Area Hospital, was on night duty at the time of the recent attack, reports from Portadown said.

In another incident in the same town, three windows were broken in a home occupied by an Indian family. The house was vacated over the weekend and police believe that same group of people was responsible for both the incidents.

"We were upstairs at the time and a stone smashed through the window. We cannot understand it. We came here from the state of Kerala in south India for a better life and we found most people friendly. But now we cannot stay in this house. It was very frightening," he told the local media.
