State leaders leave YS successor issue to Sonia

The State Congress leaders have finally left the issue to the AICC president Sonia Gandhi. As expected, the leaders left the selection of successor to late chief minister, Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, to the party high command. The Rajya Sabha member, K V P Ramachandra Rao, told media persons in Delhi that the issue has been left to the party chief, Sonia Gandhi. He said the party would take a decision on the issue. He also met the party leaders, some of the Ministers, legislators and MPs from the State who have been camping in Delhi to mount pressure on the high command in favour of Kadapa MP, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. Meanwhile, the AICC secretary, Union Minister and incharge of Andhra Pradesh, Veerappa Moily, said that the party would start exercise on the selection of next chief minister only after the completion of the mourning days. He said the party high command did not invite any leaders from the State to meet the leadership. However, he said some of the leaders from the State were meeting the top leaders and expressing their views on the successor to the late chief minister.
