At 55th National Film Awards, Telugu films were given complete miss. Not a single award was given to a Telugu movie. Apart from complete snub at mainstream awards, even in the category of regional best film, no film was chosen from Telugu although in each of Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Marathi, Hindi and in English a best film was chosen. The following films are nominated in the feature film category from Telugu ..Happy Days, Mee Shreyobhilashi, Amulyam, O Chinnari KorikaAnd none of them was chosen for any other award. When asked about it, Jury Chairperson Sai Paranjape said no Telugu film has standards in content wise. “Telugu films are being made lavishly but no film has substance to consider for an award,” she lamented.
